The issue of fee hike in Allahabad University is gaining momentum. Action has started against the students protesting against the increased fees. An FIR has been registered against 15 such students. At the same time, a case has also been registered against 100 unknown people.

In fact, hundreds of students of Allahabad University have been protesting for several days over the four-fold hike in fees. The students are protesting at the union building and have started a fast unto death. The students also took out a masala procession from the Students Union Bhawan to Chandrashekhar Azad Park in protest against the increased fees and demanded immediate withdrawal of the order of increased fees from the college administration.

Seeing the anger of the students, the university administration got the union hall gate locked. On September 16, when the condition of some students sitting on fast started deteriorating, an ambulance was called, but the administration refused the ambulance to come inside. Angry students broke the lock on this.
