In Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, a big case of conversion of people has come to light in a Dalit settlement. Police have detained two people in connection with the incident. The accused are being interrogated.
It is being told that in the Gelwara Dalit settlement, religious conversion was being done under the guise of tantra-mantra and exorcism. As soon as it was realized, the district president and workers of Hindu Jagran Manch reached the spot. They opposed this and caught the accused red handed. People informed about this to the local police.
Police officer Sudhir Kumar Jaiswal told that Vipin Singh Paliwal informed at police station Sidhari that a person in village Gelwara is motivating people to convert to religion by reciting religious books about ghosts and spirits. The police immediately took action and succeeded in arresting two people from the spot. In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused in the police station Sidhari under relevant sections. Further action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts will come out in the interrogation of the witnesses and the accused.
Earlier, in Banda district of UP, a case of rape and conversion of a minor girl came to light on the pretext of marriage on a young man. On the complaint of the girl, the police had arrested 7 people by registering a case of rape and conversion, including two women. The boy’s family members were pressurizing the girl to convert to religion for marriage.
In this case, the people of the boy’s side were accused that they had taken the girl to Hyderabad, Lucknow, Barabanki, Kanpur. During this, he was also taken to a dargah, but the girl had left after getting a chance. After this, he informed the family about the whole incident.
