The Indian Air Force (IAF) is all set to launch Project Cheetah soon. Under this, drones will be prepared with Israeli technology for all defense wings. These drones will be very hi-tech. Which will prove to be very effective in attacking against the enemy. The help of Indian Manufacturing Units will be taken in this work.
Under this project, India’s Heron drone will be upgraded. Also, Israel’s help will be taken to make it more aggressive against the enemy. According to the information, these drones will be equipped with special technology.
Government sources told India Today-Aaj Tak that under Project Cheetah, hi-tech drones will now be provided to Indian defense units. Through this, high technology will be used, so that it can be easy to keep an eye on enemy missiles and other activities.
Actually, the Heron made in Israel is an unmanned drone. Which can fly up to medium altitude. Along with this, it can carry a weight of up to 250 kg, which includes thermographic cameras, airborne ground surveillance, visible lights, radar systems etc. Not only this, this Heron UAV is also capable of returning to the base if communication is lost. The specialty of this drone is that it can lock the target in the air and give its exact position to the artillery i.e. tank or infrared seeker missile. That is, from this close of the border, the exact target found by the drone can be attacked.
According to the information, Heron drones of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Army and Indian Navy will be upgraded to be equipped with laser-guided bombs, air-to-ground and air-launched anti-tank guided missiles. A final decision on this project is to be taken soon. Its process is also in the final stage.
